NORTHWEST PARK

With the City of Gillette’s desire to make their city parks ADA compliant, Wyss Associates was contracted to revitalize this park. Our team organized a series of community input meetings along with concept
plans and formulated a design that was well received by the community. The design included reshaping the limits of the ballfield, new ADA compliant concrete walkways throughout, a new park shelter, new
irrigation system and a comprehensive landscape planting design that was incorporated into the existing arboretum. The landscape plan included innovative planting designs strategically placed throughout the
walkway to educate the community on xeriscaping options, drought tolerant plants, native plantings and non-irrigated turf options.
Although the project was quite extensive, minimal impact was made to the existing landscape plantings and park features.
This project is just one of the successful projects our office has completed with the City of Gillette in recent years.
