MOUNT RUSHMORE TO MICKELSON TRAIL FEASIBILITY STUDY

Wyss Associates, Inc. has directed a team of consultants on this comprehensive trail planning study for a proposed trail network connecting the 107 mile Mickelson Trail (rails to trails project) with Mt. Rushmore National Memorial.

Four cooperating agencies are backing the trail evaluation, including the state Game Fish and Parks, the US Forest Service, the National Park Service and the Mt. Rushmore National Memorial Society. We have directed a very extensive public participation process in advance of the anticipated NEPA evaluation.

Trail alternatives vary in levels of potential impact on regional wildlife, transportation corridors and landscape ecology.
