ELKHORN RIDGE GOLF CLUB
SPEARFISH, SD
In 2023, Golf Digest ranks the Elkhorn Ridge Golf Club as the number one public golf course in South Dakota. Elkhorn Ridge is located on the Frawley Ranch, which has been listed on the National Registry of Historic Places since 1974, and in 1977 was named a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service.
The course is laid out to take advantage of the existing rolling prairie and the wooded landscape. The state of the art learning center is designed to provide a full range of practice opportunities such as short game, mid irons, various turf conditions and a full 320 yard length. Elkhorn Ridge hosts the regions only double ended Driving Range enabling golfers to practice from both east and west ends of the facility. A separate tee provides a controlled area for private lessons.
The majestic views and natural terrain at Elkhorn Ridge Development offer the ideal landscape for golfers who appreciate and respect the natural environment. The course is rated one of the most challenging in South Dakota from the back tees while offering fairness to all levels of golfers from the five strategically placed tees on each hole.
From the incredible front nine views of the Centennial Valley, to the back nine winding through the stunning Polo Creek Canyon, Elkhorn Ridge doesn't lack in beauty.
