ELKHORN RIDGE DEVELOPMENT
SPEARFISH, SOUTH DAKOTA
Since 2002, Wyss Associates, Inc. has been directing the planning efforts for this historic 4500-acre working ranch. The master plan emphasizes diversification and historic preservation of this National Historic Landmark. New development is clustered in the direct vicinity of the Interstate Highway interchange.
Clustering the development adjacent to the Interchange allowed for thousands of acres of the ranch to remain untouched. With the continued development, in 2024, the sewer infrastructure was upsized to support the growth of the area. Wyss Associates coordinated the upgrades with the City of Spearfish.
The 18 hole Champioship style Elkhorn Ridge Golf Club is ranked by Golf Digest as the #1 public golf course in South Dakota. The Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort is a 70 acre world class full service RV resort with 185 RV Sites, 36 camping cabins, swimming pool, sport courts, and other amenities maintains a 10/10 score with Good Sam. Wyss Associates, Inc has coordinated with the SDDOT on all transportation studies for the master planning effort from the initial planning in 2002, through current day. In 2022, the SDDOT, working with the City of Spearfish began a study to improve the intersection of Hwy 85 and Colorado Blvd.
