909 ST JOSEPH STREET (TURNAC TOWER)

The prominent white-and-glass tower at 909 St. Joseph St. has a storied history and a new chapter was completed in the fall of 2024! Wyss Associates worked closely with the owners of the Turnac Towers on the major overhaul of the grounds of the Rapid City iconic building. Constructed in 1974, it was home to the prosperous First Federal Savings Bank.

Rebranded as “909 St’ Joe” the project includes new ‘909’ interior lighted signage, all new concrete plaza
paving, landscape lighting, irrigation, shade trees on West Blvd, boulders, new landscaping throughout
the property with ornamental trees, native grasses, and a mix of flowering shrubs. The plan modernizes
the grounds and activates the urban fabric of downtown Rapid City.
