Meet the Team
Wyss Associates, Inc. was formed in 1981 with the purpose of providing landscape architecture and recreation planning services throughout North America. We have a proven track record of working with small and medium sized communities in public outreach, census building, and recreation planning for highly visible education and learning centers, trails, golf courses, parks and open spaces.
Our staff works closely with community leaders and civil servants to prepare plans and visions that meet current expectations and guide future dreams. Our management philosophy is that our clients always know what to expect, and have a clear roadmap to milestones. They understand our services and the outcomes and are never adversely surprised by our findings and recommendations. We accomplish this with good communication skills, professional project management procedures and efficient task production.

Patrick Wyss, FASLA
Patrick is the President and Principal-in-charge of Wyss Associates, Inc. and is responsible for the operations of the firm. Mr. Wyss has a diverse 30-year background in landscape architecture, golf course architecture, land planning and urban design. Pat is an award-winning landscape architect and golf course architect with a strong design background emphasizing site appropriate and environmentally sensitive design solutions.
Pat is CLARB certified and registered in eight states across the United States. Pat is actively involved in the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) where he has served as the national Vice-President and was elected Fellow in 1993. Pat is active in his community; he was previously on the Board of Directors for the Journey Museum, was Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce, and currently serves on the Rapid City Planning and Zoning Commission and the Rapid City Arts Council.
Mark Jobman, ASLA
Mark Jobman joined Wyss Associates, Inc. in the spring of 2010 as a Junior Landscape Architect. He is originally from Hill City and attended South Dakota State University earning a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture with a minor in business. He is an active member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and serves as President-Elect for the Great Plains Chapter. Mark has a diverse background in landscape architecture and design including streetscapes, public plazas, trail systems, and master planning. He enjoys traveling, spending time with family, being outdoors, and skiing.
Chris Wehrle
Chris has been an integral part of the team at Wyss Associates, Inc. since joining the company in 1997, his responsibilities include: Project Management, Construction Administration, Cost Analysis, Contracts, Construction Details, Design, Bidding, and Conceptual Plans. Chris has an Associates of Applied Science, Computer Aided Drafting as well as a Microsoft Certified Engineer and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. Chris is active with his family and community activities.
